Bülk Lighthouse, Maritime lighthouse in Strande, Germany
The Bülk Lighthouse rises 25 meters above the Baltic Sea coast, featuring a distinctive black and white exterior design that marks the entrance to Kiel Fjord.
Built by Danish authorities in 1807, the current lighthouse structure underwent construction in 1862 but faced interruption during the German-Danish War before completion in 1865.
The lighthouse stands as a focal point of maritime heritage in Schleswig-Holstein, connecting generations of sailors and locals to the seafaring traditions of the region.
Visitors can ascend the lighthouse Tuesday through Sunday between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM, with entrance fees of 2 euros for adults and 1 euro for children.
The surrounding area contains rocks transported by glaciers from Scandinavia, including Kinnekulle diabase and Rapakivi granite, making it a geological study location.
