Helinet Eissportarena

Helinet Eissportarena is an indoor ice facility in Hamm with a standard ice surface measuring 60 by 30 meters (approximately). The building can accommodate around 2000 spectators, with 310 permanent seats, and accommodates both public skating and professional training activities.

The arena was built in the early 1980s on land that once belonged to a former coal mine. It initially became the home venue for the local ASV Hamm ice hockey team, transforming the site from industrial use to a sports facility.

The facility serves as a gathering place for the local community, particularly on Saturday evenings when ice disco events bring people together for dancing and socializing. These regular events reflect how the venue has become part of the city's social fabric beyond competitive sport.

The facility operates from September through mid-April, with public skating sessions available daily and professional coaching offered through licensed instructors. Visitors should check ahead as ice time can vary depending on scheduled training and events.

The venue includes the Blueliner Sportsbar & Diner, a heated viewing area where visitors can watch the ice activities while enjoying food and drinks. This setup allows companions and spectators to stay warm and comfortable while observing the action.
