Ludgeri Church Norden

The Ludgeri Church stands as the largest medieval church in East Frisia, featuring a three-aisled chancel and a separate bell tower near the marketplace.

Built in the early 13th century as a Romanesque single-room church, the structure underwent major expansions in 1318 with a transept and received its final form in 1455.

The church bears the name of Saint Liudger, the first bishop of Münster, and functions as part of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church of Hanover.

Visitors can access the church from Monday through Saturday, with extended hours from April to October and shorter operating times during winter months.

The church houses Germany's second-largest surviving Schnitger organ from 1686, featuring 46 stops across five divisions and three manuals plus pedal.
