Bargeburer Kirche, Baroque church in Bargebur, Germany.
Bargeburer Kirche is a brick building with baroque design, featuring a wooden vaulted ceiling, four round-arched windows along each side, and a baroque gable on the southern extension. The overall form and details reflect the style of Protestant church building from its period.
Construction began in 1684 under the protection of Brandenburg troops, while the region faced tensions between Reformed Protestants and Lutherans. The building became a symbol of religious reorganization during this period of change.
The church houses a special gallery where the Inn and Knyphausen families gathered and felt connected to the building's life over generations. The space beneath this gallery long served as their burial place, showing how closely these families were tied to the church.
The building hosts regular concerts and events throughout the year, featuring musicians and performing artists. Visitors should check ahead to see what performances or gatherings are scheduled during their visit.
The organ was built by W. Beckmann from Einbeck and underwent careful restoration in 2004 to recover its original sound qualities. This work brought the instrument back to what the builder originally intended.
