Liebfrauenkirche in Andernach

The Liebfrauenkirche exhibits a gallery basilica design with four towers, a western structure, and a choir near the ancient city wall.

The construction of the current church building began between 1200 and 1220 after a fire destroyed the previous St. Michael's church in 1198.

The interior displays early 13th-century frescoes, monumental artworks, and a high altar from 1620 featuring six alabaster reliefs of religious scenes.

The church stands at Kirchstrasse 11 in Andernach, with an adjacent parish hall containing visible remains of a 4th-century Roman bath facility.

The bell tower houses seven bells, including three medieval pieces, with the largest bell dating back to 1356 and still in regular use.
