Naxoshalle, Cultural venue in Ostend district, Frankfurt, Germany.
Naxoshalle is a large industrial building in the Ostend district with high ceilings, exposed brick walls, and large windows that fill the interior with natural light. The space spans around 300 square meters and has been divided into different areas for artistic and cultural activities.
The building was constructed between 1906 and 1907 for the Naxos-Union manufacturing company and originally served as a factory for grinding tools. During the late 1980s it underwent a transformation and was repurposed as a cultural venue with artist studios and performance spaces.
The venue hosts multiple artistic spaces including the theater Willy Praml and the cabaret Die KäS, where local performers regularly present their work. These spaces are woven into the cultural life of the Ostend district and support a mix of theater, music, and performance art.
The venue is located near Frankfurt Zoo and is reasonably accessible by public transport. Access to the building is straightforward, and regular screenings and performances take place throughout the year in various spaces.
The NaxosAtelier section lets visitors engage in hands-on artistic activities while surrounded by the original industrial architecture of the former factory. This chance to experience the site's history through direct participation is unusual and shapes how people remember their time there.
