Neubrandenburg Regional Museum

The Neubrandenburg Regional Museum occupies three separate locations in the city center, using a former Franciscan monastery, the Treptow Gate, and the tower of St Mary's Church. The exhibits feature regional finds, archaeological discoveries from the Tollense area, and examples of local brick architecture.

The institution was established in 1872 and opened to the public in 1873, making it one of the oldest civic museums in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It developed over time as a key place for preserving and presenting the region's past.

The collection reflects how local life and traditions developed over centuries through everyday objects, religious items, and crafts. These pieces show what mattered to people who lived here and shaped the region's character.
