Archaeological excavations from 1886 and 1909-1910 revealed traces of settlements from the Urnfield culture, Hallstatt period, and Roman times in the surrounding area.
The site contains remnants of a dry stone wall in its western section and incorporates metal processing evidence through discovered iron slag deposits.
The Black Dot Trail maintained by the Taunus Club provides access to the archaeological site, which requires careful exploration due to its protected status.
In 2010, the Gilboa Temple was established in the southwest section to commemorate the partnership between Hochtaunuskreis and Gilboa County in Israel.
