The Pyrmonter Spelunken Society funded the construction of this tower in 1896 with 20,000 marks, equivalent to 171,000 euros today.
The tower stands as a testament to local philanthropy, built by a society that supported schools, fire departments, and social services in Bad Pyrmont.
Visitors access the tower through multiple hiking trails, including the 5.47-kilometer Spelunkenturm-Sennhütte loop from Oesdorf with 160 meters elevation gain.
Following extensive renovations in 2019, the original observation platform was removed and reinstalled one year later to preserve the structure.
