Skulpturen im Park, Sculpture garden in Mörfelden-Walldorf, Germany
Skulpturen im Park is an art exhibition in the Bürgerpark that displays modern works made from concrete, steel, wood, glass, and stone. The installations transform the park into a gallery space where diverse artistic pieces are arranged throughout the grounds.
The exhibition was founded in 1998 by artists Kathrin Gordan, E.R. Nele, and Otto Schaffner and ranks among Germany's longest-running sculpture projects of its kind. Since its creation, it has developed into a regularly held event that continues to bring new works to the site.
The works come from international artists who explore different artistic expressions and materials in a public setting. Visitors can experience various creative approaches and craftsmanship directly while walking through the space.
Weekday visits offer a quieter experience for viewing the works without crowds. The grounds are easy to access and can be explored on foot, making comfortable shoes a good choice for walking the space.
Since 2019, the Otto-Schaffner Prize is awarded annually, attracting emerging artists from around the world to compete. The winner receives the rare opportunity to present a solo exhibition at the site in the following year.
