Sky Office Tower, Office building at Kennedydamm in Golzheim district, Düsseldorf, Germany
Sky Office Tower is an office building in the Golzheim district of Düsseldorf, located along Kennedydamm. The tower has 23 floors and is shaped like two overlapping lenses, with a fully glazed facade that wraps around the entire structure.
The building was designed by architect Christoph Ingenhoven and completed in May 2009. It was one of the first towers in Düsseldorf to use a fully glazed double-skin facade, which was relatively new in German office construction at the time.
The name of the building refers to its lens-shaped profile, which stands out along the Kennedydamm boulevard. People passing by often stop to look at the curved glass facade, which changes appearance depending on the light.
The tower sits along Kennedydamm and is easy to reach by public transport, with a stop nearby. Visitors arriving by car can use one of the two underground parking facilities that connect directly to the building.
The double-skin glass facade creates a natural buffer that reduces heat and noise inside the building without the need for heavy insulation. This means the interior stays relatively comfortable even during summer, which is unusual for a glass tower of this size.
