Sender Brandenkopf

Sender Brandenkopf is a concrete transmission tower near Hausach in the Black Forest that rises to an elevation of about 950 meters above sea level. The structure features technical antennas mounted on top to support radio broadcasting across the region.

The tower was built in 1976, replacing an earlier steel structure from the 1950s at this location. A modernization for digital radio broadcasting followed several decades later.

The tower serves as a vital communication hub for SWR radio programs, connecting communities across Baden-Württemberg through various broadcast channels.

The site is accessible via forest trails in the surrounding area, though the elevation requires a longer hike to reach. Visitors should be prepared for changing weather conditions, as the hilltop location brings colder temperatures and wind exposure.

The tower stands near multiple wind turbines that generate 2 million kilowatt-hours of electrical power annually for the surrounding region.
