St. Lamberti, Hildesheim, Gothic church building in Hildesheim, Germany.
St. Lamberti stands as the sole example of late Gothic hall church architecture in Hildesheim, featuring pointed arches, ribbed vaults, and tall windows that create a spacious interior with vertical emphasis.
The church was constructed between 1474 and 1488, replacing an earlier Romanesque structure from the 13th century, and later transitioned from Catholic to Lutheran faith during the Reformation in 1542.
Originally dedicated to Saint Lambert of Liège, the church served as the parish church for the Neustadt district and became a principal place of worship for the Protestant community following religious reforms.
Located along Goschenstraße near Neustädter Markt, the church offers visitor access to its interior featuring Renaissance and Baroque bells, a large pipe organ, and medieval cellars discovered during renovations.
The church houses five historical bells including one cast by Jakob Körber in 1655, and contains a Peter-and-Paul Altar from the early 15th century with original crucifixion scenes.
