Magdalenenkirche, Catholic church in Hildesheim, Germany
The Magdalenenkirche stands as a three-nave hall church with a rectangular choir and features baroque portals from the 17th and 18th centuries.
Founded in 1224 by Bishop Konrad II, the church became the first Gothic building in Hildesheim and received its consecration in 1294.
The church contains a 1515 Gothic altar in the high choir depicting detailed scenes from the Passion of Christ through intricate craftsmanship.
The church received a new organ in 2010 from Romanus Seifert & Sohn workshop, containing 33 registers funded by Klosterkammer Hannover and Diocese Hildesheim.
The silver shrine of Saint Bernward relics, created in 1750, displays the saint in episcopal regalia alongside angels and holy figures.
