Teufelsturm, Medieval watchtower in Menden, Germany.
The Teufelsturm stands as a round stone tower with thick walls, incorporating a half-timbered house addition from the year 1700.
Built during the 14th century under Elector Walram's rule, the tower formed part of Menden's defensive fortifications until the mid-18th century.
The tower houses the Westphalian Carnival Museum, presenting extensive documentation of regional carnival traditions spanning three centuries.
The Mendener Carnival Society maintains regular opening hours for visitors to explore the museum's collection of carnival artifacts and historical displays.
During witch hunt periods, the tower served as a detention facility, leading to its name Duivelsturm, which translates to Devil's Tower.
