Gut Rödinghausen, Manor house in Menden, Germany.
Gut Rödinghausen is a classical manor house with eleven window axes, a two-story left wing and a three-story right wing in Menden. The building is surrounded by water ditches from the Hönne River and combines traditional half-timbered structures with slate-covered facades.
The manor was built in 1807 by Caspar Ignaz von Dücker on baroque foundations, with a coat of arms from 1698 above its entrance portal. The building underwent extensive restoration and reopened to visitors in 2020.
The Industrial Museum inside displays over 1000 objects documenting three centuries of regional manufacturing and technical advancement. Visitors see items that reveal how local craftsmanship and industry evolved over generations.
The manor is open for guided tours through its historical rooms and industrial exhibitions. The best time to visit is on days when larger events are not scheduled, allowing you to explore the exhibitions at a comfortable pace.
The building hosts an annual KunstFest PASSAGEN where contemporary artworks come alive in the historical rooms. This event merges the site's industrial past with modern artistic expression.
