Bloßstock, Rock formation in Saxon Switzerland National Park, Germany
The Bloßstock formation rises 351 meters above sea level, featuring a 79-meter vertical north wall that stands as a natural landmark in the region.
The formation received its first documented mention in maps from 1592, with its name originating from the German term for a freestanding rock formation.
The rock formation represents a central location for German climbing traditions, with more than 30 established climbing routes developed since the first ascent in 1899.
Climbing routes at Bloßstock span different difficulty levels, from the Wenzelweg rated V to advanced northern wall routes rated up to IXa on the Saxon scale.
The north face of Bloßstock drops almost vertically for 79.5 meters, creating one of the most pronounced vertical surfaces in Saxon Switzerland.
