Sinaipark, Urban park in Dornbusch district, Frankfurt am Main, Germany
Sinaipark is a 4.6-hectare green space in the Dornbusch neighborhood with broad grass areas, winding paths, and young trees set back from streets by hedges and shrubs. The layout creates separate zones for different activities and walking routes throughout the grounds.
The site was originally a nursery growing cut flowers from 1890 until 1978, after which the current green space was developed between 1983 and 1986. This transformation from cultivation to recreation happened in the 1980s.
The space serves as a gathering place for neighbors, with three play areas, a basketball court, and sports facilities that draw families and sports clubs to spend time outdoors. These features shape how the local community uses the park throughout the week.
The park is easy to reach from multiple directions with accessible entrances on all sides and connects to the Fritz-Tarnow-Straße U-Bahn station through several lines. Barrier-free access makes it convenient for visitors of varying mobility needs.
The southeastern corner maintains a wild meadow section mowed only twice yearly, creating homes for numerous bird species, rabbits, and dormice that visitors might spot. This lesser-known zone offers a glimpse into more natural ecosystems within the park.
