HR Sendesaal, Concert hall in Broadcasting House Dornbusch, Frankfurt, Germany.
The HR Sendesaal contains 60,000 sound-absorbing wooden boards on its walls and ceiling, creating precise acoustic properties for musical performances and recordings.
Following its construction in 1953, the concert hall served as a television studio and hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in 1957 during its early broadcasting years.
The Frankfurt Radio Symphony performs regular concerts in this 840-seat venue, presenting both classical compositions and contemporary musical productions throughout the year.
Visitors can reach the concert hall through nearby public transportation stations Dornbusch and Hauptfriedhof, located within walking distance of the venue.
In 1967, the hall presented the first performance of Karlheinz Stockhausen's Mixtur for reduced orchestra, conducted by Ladislav Kupkovič during Darmstädter Ferienkurse.
