Sigiswanger Horn, Mountain summit in the Allgäu Alps, Germany.
Sigiswanger Horn is a mountain peak in the Allgäu Alps that rises to 1,527 meters between the Bavarian municipalities of Bolsterlang and Ofterschwang. The terrain features steep forested slopes and boggy areas that characterize the landscape throughout the region.
The peak was originally named in the 19th century as Siegeswanger Horn, a designation referring to the village of Sigiswang on its eastern side. Over time the modern spelling became standard as the area developed into an established hiking destination.
The mountain draws hikers and visitors from nearby areas who use it as a waypoint along regional walking routes. Its forested slopes and boggy meadows shape how people move through and experience this part of the Allgäu.
The ascent follows a hiking trail of roughly 8 to 9 kilometers from the mountain station, with parking available at the valley station. The terrain is best navigated in dry conditions since the boggy areas and wet meadows become slippery when wet.
The summit features a moss-covered stone cairn and forms part of the Panorama Way on the Allgäu Hörner Tour, connecting several nearby peaks. This network of trails lets visitors climb multiple summits in this mountain group during a single outing.
