Hebetempel, Neoclassical temple in Schlosspark, Neustrelitz, Germany.
The Hebetempel is a neoclassical rotunda in Schlosspark with Ionic columns surrounding a central chamber. Within this structure stands a zinc cast statue of the goddess Hebe mounted on a pedestal.
This temple was constructed in 1840 as part of the Neustrelitzer palace garden design. It was created by Friedrich Wilhelm Buttel, a student of the renowned architect Carl Friedrich Schinkel.
The temple displays a zinc cast reproduction of Antonio Canova's Hebe sculpture, while the original marble version is housed in Berlin's National Gallery. The figure of the goddess represents a classical ideal of youth and beauty within the garden setting.
The structure is located within Schlosspark and can be reached via marked pathways with access from Useriner Straße 1. The park is open year-round and offers clear paths for exploring the grounds.
The ceiling paintings inside were executed following designs by Berlin decorative painter Bernhard Wilhelm Rosendahl. This artistic embellishment gives the interior a subtle depth and sophistication.
