Kloster Wolf, Monastery ruins in Traben-Trarbach, Germany
The remains of Kloster Wolf monastery contain stone walls and foundations situated on a hill overlooking the Moselle River valley.
The monastery, established in 1478, functioned under the Brothers of Common Life until the Reformation period caused its gradual decline from 1685.
The religious complex operated by the Order of the Virgin Mary later transferred to the Golden Brothers, who wore distinctive pointed hats.
Many buildings in the surrounding area incorporate slate stones from the former monastery, displaying the recycling of materials across centuries.
The monastery endured six French military campaigns between 1645 and 1814 before the region transitioned to Prussian control.
