Bildungscampus Herford occupies the former Wentworth Barracks on the Stiftberg, a 9.6-hectare site bounded by Vlothoer Straße, Stadtholzstraße and Ulmenstraße. Seven listed former barracks buildings, used as troop accommodation and administration, stand around a conference centre with about 270 seats and a school. Across the Liststraße entrance, the former officers' mess has a ballroom of roughly 200 m². The east-west road through the site is named Mary-Somerville-Boulevard after the Scottish astronomer.

The campus originated from converting the former Wentworth barracks, transforming protected military buildings into modern educational spaces. This conversion preserved the architectural character while changing the site's purpose.
