Hotel am Schlossgarten, Luxury hotel in Stuttgart, Germany.
Hotel am Schlossgarten is an architectural structure positioned between Stuttgart Central Station and the palace gardens, notable for its central location. The rooms feature views of the Stuttgart skyline and surrounding green spaces.
Architect Hans Paul Schmohl designed the building in 1962 as a modern accommodation facility in Stuttgart's center. The project arose during a period when Stuttgart was rebuilding after the war and needed new hotels for its growing city.
The Zirbelstube restaurant earned a Michelin star from 2004 to 2022, serving regional specialties in a dining room with pine-wood paneling. This setting attracted guests who valued local cuisine presented in a traditional context.
The building is currently undergoing extensive renovation work and is scheduled to reopen in 2028 with 130 rooms and expanded event spaces. Visitors can observe the construction from outside and see the modernization progress.
Upon reopening, a new rooftop bar with 360-degree views of Stuttgart will be added, an element that did not exist in the original building. Management by Munich Hotel Partners under Marriott's Autograph Collection signals a different approach to the classic property.
