Riedwiesen bei Niederursel is a protected nature reserve with numerous ponds, ditches, and water features between the Frankfurt districts of Niederursel and Heddernheim. This roughly 20-hectare area hosts specialized plant species as well as amphibians and small mammals.

The Riedwiesen were designated a nature reserve in 1983 under the identifier 1412004, covering 20.5 hectares in the northern Nidda floodplain. The area lies at the eastern edge of Niederursel/Mertonviertel, bordered by the A661 motorway to the northeast and the Nidda's western bank to the southeast.

The reserve lies in the Frankfurter Grüngürtel, the city's green belt, on the northern Nidda floodplain at the eastern edge of Niederursel/Mertonviertel. Its name, Riedwiesen, refers to the reed meadows of this wet lowland; the Nidda forms its southeastern boundary and the A661 motorway its northeastern edge.

Visitors should stay on marked paths to protect the sensitive habitats. Flat shoes and moisture-resistant clothing are practical choices since the ground is often wet.

The reserve covers 20.5 hectares and has been protected since 1983 under the code 1412004. Its ponds and ditches shelter great crested newts, common toads and water frogs, alongside field voles and bank voles. Botanists also look for meadowsweet, common fleabane and the panicled sedge among the birches.
