Villa Rothschild, Villa in Pforzheim, Germany

Villa Rothschild is a three-story villa built in 1924 on the corner plot at Hachelallee 88, formerly Panoramaallee, in Pforzheim. The house has an open staircase, high ceilings with stucco decoration and a steep gable roof with a cross wing. It is a listed building and today houses a law office and a private flat.

The house was built in 1924 by architect A. Reinheimer from Mainz for Emil Rothschild, a Jewish jeweler. Rothschild left Germany in 1939 and emigrated to Brazil as political conditions worsened during World War II.

The villa reflects the tastes of wealthy jewelry manufacturers who shaped Pforzheim in the 1920s and displayed their success through refined architecture. Its design speaks to a time when the city was a major center for jewelry production.

The house sits on a corner in a quiet residential area and borders the industrial zone nearby. Keep in mind it is a private home with current occupants, so viewing is only possible from the street.

Emil Rothschild ran a jewellery factory in Pforzheim before emigrating to Brazil in 1939, where he died on 2 August 1943. The villa is the last surviving house on Hachelallee before the Wilferdinger Höhe commercial zone begins.
