Heiliggeistkirche

Heiliggeistkirche is a Gothic church located on Heidelberg's Market Square featuring tall windows and a distinctive spire. The building takes up a significant portion of the square and defines the cityscape with its stone facade and pointed architectural details.

Construction started in 1398 under King Ruprecht's order, developing over several decades with the choir completed in 1411 and the main nave finished in 1441. This lengthy building phase reflects Heidelberg's complex history during the late medieval period.
