Zweibrücken Observatory, Public observatory at University of Applied Sciences campus in Zweibrücken, Germany.

The Zweibrücken Observatory sits on the campus of the University of Applied Sciences and houses several telescopes for viewing the night sky. A large reflector telescope and a specialized solar instrument allow both nighttime and daytime observations.

A scientific society launched the project in 1999 and installed a specialized dome structure in 2002. This facility has since served as a base for continuous astronomical observation and education.

The observatory hosts regular talks and evening viewing events that bring together residents interested in exploring the night sky. These gatherings create opportunities for people to share their curiosity about celestial objects and phenomena.

Check the website beforehand to find out when viewing nights and guided sessions take place. The location on campus is easy to reach by car or public transport with parking available nearby.

The dome received a striking paint job in 2018 that references a famous science fiction character. This playful decoration makes the building instantly recognizable from a distance.
