Showpalast München, Entertainment theater in Fröttmaning district, Munich, Germany
Showpalast München is an entertainment theater in the Fröttmaning district with seating for roughly 1,700 guests and a stage spanning about 1,200 square meters (13,000 square feet). The building opened in 2017 and ranks among the largest theater structures built in the city in over a century.
The project began with the goal of creating a modern venue for international equestrian art productions. The building, with its distinctive wooden lattice shell design, was developed by Graft Architects and completed in 2017.
The shows blend equestrian performances, acrobatics, and music into productions that draw artists and audiences from around the world. This mix of artistic traditions turns the space into a gathering point for creative expression.
The venue sits near Allianz Arena and is easy to spot from outside the district. Beyond the main performance space, guests can enjoy a beer garden with room for roughly 400 people alongside modern technical systems that support various event types.
The outer shell is illuminated by one of Europe's largest LED walls, displaying images of galloping horses in dramatic colors. This electronic art installation makes the building a visual centerpiece of the neighborhood even after dark.
