The BND-Außenstelle Schöningen is a signals intelligence facility in Schöningen, Germany, equipped to monitor satellite communications across a large area. Multiple antenna systems cover the grounds to capture and process international radio transmissions.
The station was established in the late 1950s and began operations in September 1958 to monitor Warsaw Pact communications. It grew into a major hub for German signals intelligence activities during the Cold War era.
