Richard-Dehmel-Haus, Historic single-family home in Blankenese, Hamburg, Germany.
The Richard-Dehmel-Haus stands as a distinctive angular building with steep roofing and elevated terraces, featuring ochre-colored plaster walls instead of traditional Hamburg brick facades.
Built in 1912 by architect Walther Baedeker and gifted to poet Richard Dehmel for his 50th birthday, the house served as the writer's residence until his death in 1920.
The interior showcases original furniture designs by Peter Behrens, lighting by Henry van de Velde, and wallpapers by Emil Orlik, creating a comprehensive artistic environment.
Visitors can schedule guided tours through the Dehmelhaus Foundation, which restored the building between 2014 and 2016 with funding from the Hermann Reemtsma Foundation.
The south facade features a girl sculpture by Viennese artist Richard Luksch, while the building incorporates Dehmel's own furniture designs from 1901 into its interior.
