Automuseum Engstingen, Automobile museum in Großengstingen, Germany.
Automuseum Engstingen houses over 120 vehicles including cars, motorcycles, mopeds, and historic bicycles spread across about 1200 square meters of exhibition space. The collection spans different eras and shows how personal transportation has evolved over time.
The museum grew from a private vehicle collection in the 1980s and opened to the public in 1987 in a former knitwear factory building. The location in a repurposed industrial structure shows how communities preserve old buildings as cultural spaces.
The museum draws scooter and microcar fans each October who gather to share their vehicles with fellow collectors. Visitors experience a living community of people keeping their passion for these vehicle types alive.
The museum is mainly open on Sundays and hours vary depending on the season, so it is worth checking ahead before visiting. Wear comfortable shoes since you will walk around quite a bit exploring the various displays.
The collection includes a 1942 Fiat Sport considered one of the last surviving examples of its model. It also houses a De Dion-Bouton motor tricycle from 1898, showing how different motorized travel looked in the early days.
