The Paul-Werner-Oberschule occupies a three-story brick building with a mansard roof and an octagonal entrance hall featuring a cross-ribbed vaulted ceiling.
Built in 1889 as Bismarckschule, the institution became one of Prussia's largest schools with 1,100 students at the start of the 20th century.
The school includes Sorbian language instruction in its curriculum, preserving the linguistic heritage of the Brandenburg region through educational programs.
Located at Bahnhofstraße 11, the school maintains 18 general classrooms, 8 specialized rooms for languages and sciences, and computer laboratories.
The building underwent extensive renovation in 2006 while maintaining its original Berlin round-arch architectural style from the 19th century.
