Pförtnerhaus der Nordwolle

The Nordwolle gatehouse features brick construction with ornate window designs, pilaster strips, and a distinctive upper roof edge at Pappelstrasse 1A.

Built around 1900, this gatehouse served as the entrance control point for the Norddeutsche Wollkämmerei & Kammgarnspinnerei, which employed 3,000 workers by 1911.

The gatehouse represents the industrial heritage of Delmenhorst, marking the transformation from a small agricultural town into a major manufacturing center.

The building maintains protected monument status and operates as part of the industrial heritage complex, accessible through guided tours of the Nordwolle Museum.

The structure includes different window formats across each floor, combining segment-arched and round-arched designs within its systematic facade arrangement.
