Edelfrauengrab waterfall

Edelfrauengrab waterfall is a cascade system in the Black Forest consisting of multiple drops along the Gottschlägbach stream that descend about 45 meters in total. The water flows across different levels, creating natural pools surrounded by thick forest.

The waterfall takes its name from a medieval tale about a noblewoman who died in a cave formation beside the cascades. This legend has been passed down for centuries and gave the site its distinctive name.

The waterfall draws visitors and locals alike, with its name tied to a story that remains part of local memory and tradition. People use this spot as a natural meeting point along hiking routes through the region.

The waterfall is reachable from a dedicated parking area connected by a short marked hiking trail. The ground can become wet and slippery, especially after rain, so sturdy footwear is advisable.

The waterfall system features narrow footbridges that cross over multiple cascade points, offering close-up views of the flowing water. These bridges provide unusual angles on the water and connect to a longer hiking route toward a nearby ridge.
