The Schliffkopf reaches an elevation of 1055 meters and features multiple marked trails leading through dense forests in Baden-Württemberg state.
The Schliffkopf nature reserve was established in 1938, protecting 520 hectares of land to maintain the natural landscape of the Black Forest region.
The mountain sits at the intersection of traditional Black Forest communities, where local forestry practices and timber production shaped regional development.
Visitors can access the summit via the Black Forest High Road and park at designated areas before taking the 5-kilometer trail to the peak.
The Lothar Path, created in 2003, shows the natural recovery process through footbridges and stairs where Hurricane Lothar damaged 10 hectares in 1999.
