Kifisia

Kifisia is a residential suburb north of Athens located on the western slopes of Mount Penteli at about 290 meters elevation. The area features tree-lined streets, elegant homes, and shopping streets including Kassaveti and Kolokotroni.

The area originated as an ancient Athenian district and transformed into a sought-after summer destination after the railway opened in 1885. Wealthy families from Athens relocated there to escape the city's hustle.

The Goulandris Natural History Museum displays extensive collections of Greek wildlife and conducts research on local ecosystems. Visitors can explore how the area's nature is studied and preserved through its exhibitions.

The area connects to central Athens via the green metro line, making it easy for visitors to arrive. Cafes, restaurants, and shops are spread throughout the streets, offering plenty to explore.

Each spring, a flower exhibition showcases thousands of plant species in the area. This event brings together nature and celebrations in one place.
