Epigraphical Museum, Archaeological museum in Athens, Greece
The Epigraphical Museum houses a collection of 14,078 inscriptions spanning from early historical times through the Late Roman period in Greece.
Established in 1885, the museum occupies the south wing of the National Archaeological Museum of Athens, designed by architect Patroklos Karantinos.
The inscriptions document ancient Greek economic, political, religious, and social life through stone records in Greek, Latin, Phoenician, and Hebrew languages.
Located at 1 Tositsa Street, the museum provides access to four exhibition rooms, while the remaining areas serve research purposes.
The collection contains the earliest preserved Attic inscription from the Acropolis and the funerary stele commemorating Corinthians who perished at Salamis.
