Ξενοδοχείο Mont Parnes, Hotel and casino complex in Acharnes Municipality, Greece.
The Mont Parnes hotel and casino is a combined facility in Acharnes Municipality situated at approximately 1,078 meters elevation. The complex offers panoramic views across the Athens metropolitan area and houses both guest accommodations and gaming facilities on a mountain location.
Construction began in 1958 under Prime Minister Konstantinos Karamanlis and the facility opened in 1961. Originally designed as a luxury hotel, it received the region's first casino license in 1971.
The building was designed by architect Pavlos Mylonas and merges modern construction techniques with Greek design principles. The structure reflects the intention to create an international luxury resort while respecting its mountain setting.
A cable car system installed in 1972 connects the mountain facility to the surrounding area, allowing visitors to reach the elevation without driving themselves. This transportation option is central to accessing the location.
Gaming operations launched here in 1971 and marked the first casino license issued anywhere in the Attica region. This expansion fundamentally reshaped what the place offered to visitors.
