Κτίριο Πέμπτης Μεραρχίας, Historical military building in Chania, Greece
The Fifth Division Building features symmetrical wings arranged around an interior courtyard with open passages and large front openings.
Built in the late 19th century as a Turkish Military Hospital, the building's first floor was completed in 1900 and later housed Nazi forces during World War II.
The structure represents the architectural style of major urban centers from the late Ottoman period in Crete, displaying strict symmetrical design principles.
The building includes accessibility features for people with disabilities and underwent restoration work in 1984, 1988, and 1990.
In 2004, the building became occupied by an anarchist group who maintained the space and provided cultural areas for refugees and migrants.
