Châtillon-sur-Seine

Châtillon-sur-Seine sits at the sources of the Seine River and features stone buildings, old fortifications, and narrow lanes along the water. The surrounding forest creates a quiet setting with traditional French architecture throughout the town.

The settlement developed at the boundary between the Duchy of Burgundy and the Bishopric of Langres, two rival powers controlling the area for centuries. The divided parts finally came together as one community in the late 1500s.
