Pauillac, Wine commune in Médoc, France
Located between Bordeaux and Pointe de Grave, Pauillac extends along the Gironde estuary with its vineyards covering 3,000 acres of land.
In 1777, French military officer Lafayette departed from Pauillac's port to join the American War of Independence, leading to a commemorative bronze stele.
The Saint Martin's Church, completed in 1829, features Greek-inspired architecture with an octagonal tower and serves as the religious center of Pauillac.
The central market operates every Saturday morning at Place de la République, offering local products and regional specialties to residents and visitors.
