Jardin Villemin - Mahsa Jîna Amini

The park sits on the former grounds of a military hospital built in 1870 that cared for wounded soldiers arriving from the nearby Gare de l'Est train station. A memorial at the entrance documents Nazi-imposed restrictions that barred Jewish residents from public parks between 1941 and 1944.

The garden was renamed in 2022 to honor an Iranian activist who fought for women's rights, reflecting how this space has become a place where visitors encounter stories of global struggles for freedom and dignity.
