Couvent des Récollets, Historical convent in 10th arrondissement, Paris, France

The Couvent des Récollets is a renovated monastic building in the 10th arrondissement of Paris near Gare de l'Est. The complex offers furnished studios and shared spaces designed specifically for creative professionals.

The building was constructed in 1603 as a Franciscan monastery and served as a military hospital from 1862 onward. After becoming the Jean Antoine de Villemin hospital in 1913, it underwent several uses before its current function.

The complex hosts the House of Architecture and serves as a meeting place for artists and researchers from around the world. Visitors find regular exhibitions and events that keep the creative community active here.

The location is convenient near Gare de l'Est and easily accessible by public transport. The complex features internal communal areas and green courtyards that invite you to spend time outdoors.

From 1990 to 1996, the building housed an artist collective called Les anges des Récollets that played an important role in Paris's art scene. This period ended with a complete renovation in 2003 that transformed the site into its current state.
