Château Lynch-Bages

Château Lynch-Bages is a Fifth Growth winery in Pauillac covering around 90 hectares of vineyards on gravelly slopes overlooking the Gironde estuary within Bordeaux's Médoc region. The vineyard parcels spread across hilly terrain and benefit from the distinctive soil conditions of the area for grape cultivation.

The property took its name from Irish owner Thomas Lynch and gained Fifth Growth status in the 1855 Bordeaux wine classification. Since then, the estate has become an established producer in the region.

The estate produces bold red wines primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes using traditional Bordeaux winemaking methods paired with contemporary practices. This combination shapes the character of wines created here and reflects the region's long-standing viticultural tradition.

Visiting requires arranging visits in advance, as access is available only during specific times. Planning ahead helps ensure you arrive at a convenient moment.

Production moved to new buildings designed by architect Chien Chung Pei starting in 2020. The design incorporates gravity-flow cellars, which allow grapes to move naturally through height differences during processing.
