Bernard Phelan established the estate by merging two vineyards, Clos de Garramey and Segur, making it the largest in Saint-Estèphe by 1860.
The estate produces an average of 20,000 cases of first wine annually, expressing the traditional winemaking methods of the Bordeaux region.
The winery offers guided tours of the vineyards and cellars, where visitors can learn about wine production and participate in tasting sessions.
In 2011, the estate underwent modernization with new stainless steel fermentation vats, enabling separate vinification for each parcel of land.
