SS Djemnah, French steamboat in Marseille, France.

The SS Djemnah extended 125 meters in length with a beam of 12.1 meters and could reach speeds of 14 knots at sea.

Built in La Ciotat during 1875 for Messageries Maritimes company, this vessel transported passengers and cargo across Mediterranean routes until 1918.

The Filipino intellectual Jose Rizal traveled on the SS Djemnah to Europe, where he pursued medical studies and engaged in political activism.

The ship contained four passenger classes, accommodating 83 in First Class, 42 in Second Class, 60 in Third Class, and 1,200 in lower decks.

German submarine UB-105 torpedoed the SS Djemnah on July 14, 1918, causing the vessel to sink within two minutes north of Libya.
