Château Pichon, Heritage castle in Parempuyre, France

The castle features a neo-Renaissance design with a semicircular layout around a courtyard, incorporating elements from different architectural periods.

The original structure from 1601 was burned down in 1650 during the Fronde war, leading to its reconstruction in 1651 by Baron Jacques d'Alesme.

The estate represents the evolution of French architecture and wine production, combining traditional castle design with practical vineyard operations.

The property maintains 25 hectares of vineyards producing approximately 120,000 bottles annually, primarily using Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc grapes.

King Louis XIV visited the castle in 1659 for hunting activities, marking a significant moment in the property's connection to French royalty.
