During the Middle Ages, monks traveling the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage route established this location as a stop on their journey to Bordeaux.
The estate produces 180,000 bottles annually, with Merlot grapes comprising 70 percent of the 31.5-hectare vineyard, including their signature white Médoc.
The castle opens Monday through Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00, offering guided tours, wine tastings, and venue rentals for events and corporate gatherings.
Five sisters currently manage this family-owned estate, continuing a tradition of female leadership that began in 1896 with the Cruse family acquisition.
