Mairie de Montrouge is a metro station on line 4 in Montrouge, just south of Paris. It sits beneath the Avenue de la République, with a white elliptical vault, orange seating, and interior surfaces in wood and metal.
The station opened in March 2013 as part of an extension of line 4 toward the south. It served as the southern terminus of the line until January 2022, when the line was extended further toward Bagneux.
The station takes its name from the town hall of Montrouge, which stands just steps from one of its exits. Inside, an artwork by Hugues Reip runs through the corridors and platforms, giving travelers something to notice as they pass through.
The station has several street exits near the town hall, the Saint-Jacques church, and other points in the neighborhood, making it easy to orient yourself on the way out. Elevators are available, but it is worth checking their status in advance if you need step-free access.
The vault above the platforms is elliptical in shape, which is uncommon for recently built stations. Platform screen doors, separating passengers from the tracks, were added in May 2020, several years after the station first opened.
